Sleeping at Sunset was inspired by imagery of the sun setting in a sparse bushland setting. The lilac shapes are the sides of the hills in shadow, the deep black voids are the crevices in rocks, the rich ochres and golds is the sun reflecting on the edge of the leaves. The swirls of the greens, muted sienna, burgundy and russet bronze represent the foliage in the trees... these are just a handful of colours that make up this peaceful landscape.
My artwork contains a lot of intricate details that give my paintings movement and can entice the viewer to look upon the painting and become mesmerised (that's what past collectors have said anyway ). Please take the time to look at the close ups to see all the fine details.
